Matt Parker

Matt brings 25 years of experience as an oil and gas advisor and trader to Snapper Creek, where he helps clients manage derivative hedge portfolios and develop physical marketing and procurement strategies.

Before joining Snapper Creek, Matt was Managing Director and Head of Strategy at Mobius Risk Group. There, he founded and led the Strategy Team, overseeing hedge advisory, fundamental analytics, quantitative analysis, and hedge execution for energy producers and consumers. Under his leadership, the team advised on hedges covering more than 7 bcf/day of natural gas and approximately 1 million barrels per day of oil. They also developed physical marketing and procurement strategies for over 2 bcf/day of gas.

Prior to Mobius, Matt was a natural gas derivatives portfolio manager at Goldfinch Capital and Sandridge Capital. His investment strategy—grounded in fundamental analytics and relative value—produced positive returns over a nine-year period, both in percentage terms and absolute dollars.

Earlier in his career, Matt was an oil and gas options trader and market maker at Merrill Lynch and Koch Industries.
Matt holds an MBA from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and a BBA from the University of Oklahoma. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
