Snapper Creek Energy (“Snapper Creek”), an innovative data-driven commodity brokerage specializing in traditional, renewable, and transitional energy markets, today announced that Léonie Karkoviata has joined the firm as Director of Origination for its carbon brokerage desk, effective immediately. Based in Houston, Ms. Karkoviata will support the sourcing and execution of carbon transactions in Snapper Creek’s pipeline. She will report to Shaun Wildt, Head of Snapper Creek’s carbon desk and Managing Director.

An accomplished energy transition professional, Ms. Karkoviata has significant experience delivering innovative strategies and actionable recommendations to independent and national energy companies, biofuels producers, utilities, private equity investors, and pension funds. Prior to joining Snapper Creek, she served as Energy Transition Consulting Lead at Energy Aspects.

“We are pleased to welcome Léonie to Snapper Creek,” said Sid Perkins, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Snapper Creek. “Snapper Creek’s carbon desk has experienced impressive growth in deal volume year-to-date, and we are confident that Léonie’s extensive global network of relationships, strong understanding of the carbon markets, and years of experience developing innovative, tailored solutions for clients will be a significant value-add to the desk and drive continued business momentum.”

“I am thrilled to join Snapper Creek at this exciting time in the firm’s growth and the carbon markets’ maturation,” said Ms. Karkoviata. “Snapper Creek has established itself as a brokerage of choice in the energy sector, and I look forward to working closely with Sid and the entire team to identify, evaluate and execute carbon market transactions that generate strong outcomes for our diverse client base.”

Prior to joining Energy Aspects, Ms. Karkoviata worked at Argus Media, most recently as a Biofuels and Energy Commodities Consulting Manager managing energy transition projects across renewable natural gas, diesel, SAF fuels, and feedstock. Earlier in her career, she was the Lead Economics Professor at the University of Houston Downtown’s College of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the American University of Paris, a Master of Science in European Economics from the Universidad Ortega y Gassett, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston.
